Description

Candice Fox is a tour de force in the crime fiction scene and passionate about crime writing. With not one, not two, but THREE books in 2019 she has plenty to tell, including co-writing Hush Hush, her fourth novel with James Patterson.

Gold coin entry

Part of the Write Here! Festival 2019.

The Write Here! Festival is a Writepad program part of a Lake Mac Libraries initiative that will deliver a range of author visits, literacy programs and opportunities for local writers.

Candice’s books are printed in 15 languages, and the television rights to the Ted Conkaffey and Amanda Pharrell series have been picked up in Australia, with a series in pre-production.

Hades, Candice Fox’s first novel, won the Ned Kelly Award for best debut in 2014 from the Australian Crime Writers Association.

Candice has two undergraduate and two postgraduate degrees. Candice is passionate about the genre of crime writing. Growing up in a large, eccentric family, she is the daughter of a parole officer at one of Sydney’s biggest prisons and an enthusiastic foster-carer. She spent her childhood listening around corners to tales of violence and evil as her father relayed his work stories to her mother and older brothers.

In 2015 Candice began collaborating with James Patterson. Their first novel together, Never Never, set in the vast Australian outback, was a huge bestseller in Australia and went straight to number 1 on the New York Times bestseller list in the US and also to the top of the charts in the UK. Since then they have written Black & Blue, Fifty Fifty, and Liar Liar in the Harriet Blue series.
