Data modelling is arguably the single most important activity in information system design and a basic competency for all information systems professionals.
This 2-day course provides information systems professionals with foundation skills in data modelling.
To re-enforce the study material, the course is rich in exercises and case studies, equipping students to develop their own Data Models.
The course covers:
- Relational modelling
- Entity Modelling
- Subtypes and Supertypes, Roles
- Time and History
- Common modelling errors
- Attributes, value ranges and codes
- Common uses of data modelling
- Reuse, patterns and resources
- Enterprise contexts
- Data warehousing concepts
The target audience is any person who is working in a professional data modelling area or is working extensively with data modelling professionals.
The course presenter is Lloyd Robinson. Lloyd is a highly experienced data management expert and has been teaching data modelling for almost three decades in university and professional training organisations.
In addition, Lloyd has practical experience in:
- Teaching data modelling since 1986, regularly updating the course for new requirements
- Leading enterprise architecture teams in multiple initiatives up to $300M
- Consulting in data management in organisations as a data specialist.
- Lloyd is certified at a mastery level in both Data Management Profession (CDMP) and Business Intelligence (CBIP).

Payments and Refunds
We do not offer refunds if you do not attend the course or if you cancel within 7 days of the event. Refunds requested earlier than 7 days are available, less any non-refundable expenses we have incurred.
We may postpone or cancel an event at our discretion when the services cannot be provided satisfactorily. We will let you know as soon as possible if this occurs. No compensation is payable for postponement.
The full amount must be paid within 14 days if you request an invoice, or no later than 48 hours before the event commences. Registrations will not be held after the date notified and may be sold to other customers.
