Event description

Description

Featuring the theme of “tie us together”, Canberra Moon Festival (CMF) returns after a successful launch in 2016. Held at the Canberra Theatre Centre Forecourt on Sunday 1st October, CMF will celebrate unity and diversity by uniting Moon Festival celebrating community groups and local Canberrans.

CMF 2017 welcomes a total of 6-hours ongoing distinctive cultural performances, from Chinese lion dance and classical music instruments to Korean pop dance, from Thai dance to local well-known band HitParade, and many more.

Among all performing artists, our very own Canberra singer and songwriter, the Voice Australia 2017 finalist Lucy Sugerman will bring a tremendous homecoming gig to the stage.

In line with Eastar’s non-profit nature and sustainability awareness, CMF 2017 is proudly collaborating with OzHarvest to fight food waste and promote sustainable living. Excess food will be collected post event and donated to over 65 charities in Canberra and Queanbeyan region.

Gold coin upon entrance. You are encouraged to bring in a can of excess food (within expiry date) and donate to the onsite OzHarvest milk crate station.

Every portion of food will offset entry fee for 1 person. Two portions for per family up to 5.

Alcohol-prohibited venue. Family and children friendly.
