Friends Who Are Going
Event description

Description

Microboards Australia brings peace of mind about the future for people with a disability and their families. We do this by helping them find and gather friends to form an incorporated association called a microboard. Members of the microboard freely give their support and are legally accountable to ensuring the person with a disability has the good life they want for the rest of their lives and to act honestly and prudently.

Every few months we run an event where we invite a family and their microboard to speak about how a microboard has brought them peace of mind and a good life.

Our next event is in Canberra on September 9 @ 9:30 am - 4:30 pm.

Topics Covered

  • What is a Microboard?
  • Why have a Microboard?
  • Understanding Microboard values and principles and what they look like in action
  • What kind of work do Microboards do?
  • Don’t know anyone? – How to bring people into your life that you could ask to be part of the Microboard
  • Inviting people to be part of a Microboard
  • Roles & responsibilities of members
  • About our Coaching Program to support you to implement your Microboard.
