Global GovJAM aims to enable governments, industry, non-government organisations, and citizens to rapidly collaborate and look beyond their day to day resource constraints to maximise their impacts in the public sector
We are delighted to invite all government staff, industry representatives, to join at least 30 cities around the world in the first Global GovJAM between 4-6 June 2013, during Public Sector Innovation Month. This year we have combined the best of the Canberra Service Jam and GovJAM to create a two streamed jamming event that will cater for experienced Jammers, and those who are completely new to jamming!
This year it is being opened up to all public sector agencies, academia, industry, non-government organisations and citizens all around the world. For more information and a list of joined locations, please see www.govjam.org/locations
The principles of GovJAM reflect the Australian Government's commitment to the APS Innovation Action Plan - innovation consciousness, capacity, co-creation and courage - but also moves beyond them. A key principle of the Global GovJAM is 'doing, not talking'. Outputs from the Global GovJAM include first stage prototyped policies, programs and services. Outcomes include rapid and deep relationship development amongst people at the jam that empower cross and trans-disciplinary collaboration.
This year Global GovJAM in Australia will have sites in Canberra and Perth (and maybe more!) At the Canberra GovJAM we will have a group of business and government mentors helping jammers shape their designs to ensure they bridge departments, secotrs and connect governments and communities.
Our Business Mentors will also oversee the intensive development of the top three projects from the Canberra GovJAM following the jam to provide a sound economic basis for pitching the designs to a high level public official panel later in the year. Designed prototypes may also be pitched to Ministers.
Global GovJAM is not for profit.
