Description

Are you confident you can spot a scam?

While many of us know that the internet can make it easier to keep in touch with family and friends, source information and many other tasks, some are put off by security concerns.

This session, presented by Greg Gebhart, senior trainer at the Office of the eSafety Commissioner, will help you to confidently identify scams online. This presentation covers the most common scams, including the latest tax and Medicare scams, tech support scams, romance scams and more, how to spot them, what to do or not do and who to speak to for help.

You will also learn more about the free online learning program, Be Connected, which contains easy to follow modules on a range of topics aimed at helping older Australians become connected digitally. Come along to our event and we will give you information that you can take away to continue your online learning with this program.

This is a free event but space is limited so registration is essential.
