Description

The Centre for Applied Disability Research (CADR) and National Disability Services Qld warmly invite you to join us for an informal breakfast to discuss the current state of disability research in Australia and ways we can work together to develop effective strategies for knowledge translation about ‘what works, for whom, under what circumstances, at what cost’.

Gordon Duff, NDS General Manager of Sector Development and Research, will address the breakfast outlining the research agenda and current projects of the Centre for Applied Disability Research (CADR). CADR has been established to improve the wellbeing of Australians with a disability by gathering insights, building understanding and sharing knowledge.

The urgent need for applied and translational research will be highlighted including a brief on CADR’s work in the area of rebuilding the disability clearing house and preparing translational research products in a number of priority areas. Gordon Duff will discuss NDS’ engagement in a number of ARC Linkage, NHMRC and other funded projects including MOUs with those Universities that have a demonstrable track record in quality research.

NDS is very interested in engaging the academic research community and disability service providers in Queensland to build industry partnerships and ensure the best available evidence informs policy, sector and workforce development. CADR would like to better understand the capabilities and capacity of networks or researchers and individuals that share our objectives.

This event is proudly sponsored by the Centre for Applied Disability Research – An Initiative of National Disability Centre for Applied Disability Research http://www.cadr.org.au/

We look forward to seeing you there.
