About this Event

Please join us to meet other Byron Bay yoga teachers in our community, participate in discussion, and earn 2 CPD points. This workshop, presented by Lissie Turner, will centre around working with problems in the Manomayam. This event is open to all Yoga teachers, members and non-members alike.

About the Presenter - Lissie Turner

Owner of The Yoga Shack, Level II Teacher and Registered Yoga Therapist under the tuition of Dr NC of Yoga Vaidya Sala. Founder of the Dissolving Patterns Program - a 21 day framework which includes a one to one prescribed therapy practice as the foundation for each student coupled with 21 days together to dissolve the patterns that propagate suffering. Founder of Living Hormoniously - a therapy based education awareness program for women to understand the nuances of their own endocrine systems and how that relates directly to the mind and deeper. In clinic Lissie specialises in problems in the manomayam; addiction recovery, negative relationships with food, people etc, cancer, insomnia and autoimmune disorders. She also specialises in endocrine health.

What's on the Agenda?

'Whatever happens to the mind, happens to the whole person.' As yoga teachers it is imperative to be deeply seated in the knowledge that yoga is for the mind; to have a most refined awareness, that every movement we teach, every breath we guide is to assist the student to change their state of mind. By first and foremost understanding our own manomayam, we will be able to more deeply understand others. In having good understanding of the states of mind, functional divisions of mind and the obstacles that get in the way of progressing in ourselves, we can begin to work more skillfully with each student. When problems in our student are seated at the manomayam level or deeper, we have to use all of the tools of yoga appropriately for the individual as always but with some distinctions. During this gathering we'll discuss some of the these important differences in working with manomayam problems and our role as teachers to guide a student out.
