Event description

Description

Join us for this insightful documentary that explores life as an Afghan cameleer in the Australian outback, in a story starting over 150 years ago. This film is a tribute and a testament to the great contribution and sacrifice that the Afghan camel drivers gave to Australia between 1846 and 1939.

As part of the screening Director Kuranda Seyit will be in conversation about the Muslim cameleers’ legacy with Afghan cameleer descendant Butch Williamson.

This screening is part of a series of events supporting the exhibition, ‘So That You Might Know Each Other’: Faith and Culture in Islam.
