A BVRT themed MTB ride to celebrate the Easter holiday - experience the best trail riding the BVRT region has to offer.

Please note that due to flood damage to one of the tracks, this event has been changed.

The original route combined the BVRT with Staines Rd (a forestry track) and the historic Rohlmman's track.

However, one of our committee members did a safety check of the route on Saturday and found there has been extensive water damage to Staines Rd during the recent flooding rains, so it's best avoided for the time being.

As compensation, we've decided to include a visit to Blackbutt Bakery instead. :-)

We'll ride up to Blackbutt on the BVRT, pausing long enough for a coffee and something from the bakery. Then back down the BVRT to Fettlers Rest where we'll leave the rail trail to join a forestry road that will bring us out onto the D'Aguilar Highway. Then we'll cross over and ride down the highway for a short distance to avoid an overgrown section, and then turn left onto Rohlmann's track.

There are some steep climbs and a very long descent, but the good news is that after we gain height up to Blackbutt on the BVRT, it's mostly downhill.

Moderate mountain biking skills and fitness essential. There is one steep and very rutted downhill section where it may be adviseable to walk for about 100 metres or so. Suitable for mountain bikes and gravel bikes only. e-MTBs welcome.

Meet in Linville station at 7.00 am opposite Ann St, just about 150 metres beyond the pub.

Registration $25 to cover insurance and admin costs.
