Event description

Description

Public safety and amenity are crucial aspects of all street performance activities. For this reason, as part of applying for a busking permit, you must attend a Safety, Amenity and Performance Review.

The review is designed to ensure you understand your rights and responsibilities while performing. It is also an opportunity to ask questions about busking in the City of Melbourne.

All new applicants will be briefed on permit terms and conditions including:

  • requirements for performance space management
  • audience and pedestrian management
  • safety procedures
  • local laws and compliance procedures
  • expected behaviours.

Before attending the review, please ensure that you have read through the Busking Guidelines 2011. If you have any questions or require clarification on any points, please ask at the review session.

Please be on time. If you are more than 15 minutes late, you may be refused entry to the session. Also factor in additional time to sign in and register (around 5 to 10 minutes depending on the queue) at Security Concierge in the foyer of Council House Two.

Security staff may ask you to present bags for inspection. These security measures are precautionary and are not in response to any specific threat.

Filming or photography within City of Melbourne buildings is not permitted without permission from the City of Melbourne.
