Come along and get a local update on nbn™ for inner metro Adelaide, plus sound counsel on digital transformation (opportunities & challenges), and how to manage cyber safety in your business space.

Keynote Speakers:

Chris Gregory, nbn Local Manager SA/NT

Adelaide based, Chris supports nbn’s Corporate Affairs nbn local team. As the ‘voice and face of nbn’, managing corporate expectation and reputational issues along with addressing the understanding of, preparation for, and connection to the nbn network for all South Australians – metro, rural and remote.

Chris has been involved in the nbn world for nearly 6-years. Prior to that he delivered stakeholder management, communications, project management and training services to the community, education, corporate and government sectors – both in Australia and internationally. And in a former life he was an exploration geologist, working across Australia and South America.

Steve Smith, SA Chair Australian Internet Industry Assoc / Digital Strategy Consultant, United Focus

Steven Smith is a digital advisor to governments, the business community and not-for-profit sector on how they should respond to the opportunities and challenges of this Digital Age. He works with clients to help them solve the complex strategic and operational challenges as they grapple with the ever-increasing digital demands of clients and customers.

His first career was as a teacher but he left the classroom in 1995 to establish his digital advisory company, United Focus. Major projects included writing and developing the e-businessguide.gov.au (an Australian guide to doing business online) and the first staysmartonline.gov.au websites for the Australian Government .

More recently he was Director at KPMG Australia in the national digital consulting team, and since returning to United Focus his work has focused on digital transformation, smart city initiatives, governance and management of websites and use of social media, and digital leadership in organisations.

He is Chair, SA Council of the Australian Information Industry Association (AIIA) – the peak body for the IT industry. Steven is an author of a book on managing websites and has delivered numerous workshops across Australia to business owners and their advisors, explaining how to thrive in this Digital Age.

Nathan Morelli, Senior Adviser, Adelaide Joint Cyber Security Centre, CERT Australia, Attorney-General’s Dpt

Nathan Morelli has recently joined CERT Australia, leading the program of work to implement the Adelaide Joint Cyber Security Centre. The Joint Cyber Security Centre (JCSC) program is a partnership between business, government, academia and other key partners to enhance collaboration on cyber security.

With 13 years’ experience across operational and managerial cyber security roles, many dealing with small to medium enterprises, Nathan has assisted many organisations in managing cyber security better. He most recently completed the role as Manager, ICT Assurance and IT Security Advisor for the Department for Education and Child Development (DECD), leading the department, including schools and pre-schools, in managing cyber security risks. Other organisations that he has worked at prior to CERT include EY, Adelaide University, SA Water and KPMG. Nathan is also a member of the SA Government’s cyber security steering committee and a member of the Privacy Committee of South Australia. His interest in the development of cyber security in South Australia is also pursued through his role as the Branch Chair for the Adelaide Australian Information Security Association (AISA) branch.
