Event description

Description

The History Council of NSW is pleased to present its first Speaker Connect talk for 2018.

Songs and stories, many from anonymous writers, tracked Australian history in just about every turn made in the 19th and early 20th centuries. They tell of frustration and aspiration: be it about convict life, bush loneliness, emigration, itinerant work, gold fossicking, lean times, unionism, wartime, city strife or tales of boom and bust.

Cultural historian, author, broadcaster and performer, Warren Fahey AM delights in singing and telling the stories behind the songs. Join him in bringing history to life through stories, recitations and songs, with a performance guaranteed to push nostalgia buttons and remind us of our unique Australian identity.

Hosted by Hawkesbury Regional Museum.

Proudly presented as part of the History Council of NSW’s Speaker Connect program for 2018, supported by Create NSW.
