Event description

Description

The Bushdance has been an annual gay Canberra event since 1984. It is held at the Yarralumla Woolshed which is an original shearing shed still with the not unpleasant lingering smell of lanolin from the wool. Despite being located close to the geographic centre of Canberra, the Woolshed has a very country feel with no sign of the city around it.

There is a live bush band with a caller who explains how to do the dances. These are very popular and the dance floor is always full. There is an onsite bar and an outdoor area for cooling down, getting something to eat and chatting.

This is one of Canberra's most popular and largest gay events. It is part of the Canberra SpringOUT Pride Festival. To comply with liquor licensing and maximum occupancy limits, there will be a limited number of tickets available in 2018. This maximum number will be enforced and anyone wishing to attend must buy a ticket in advance.

The bar will accept both cash and credit cards. The separate food stall in the outdoor area is cash only.

This is an event for adults 18+.

There will not be any tickets sold on the night.

Once tickets are sold out, there will be a small number which become available later as a result of cancellations.
