Description

Enjoy a free, guided bush walk through a variety of bushland vegetation communities in the heart of Sydney.

The walk will begin at Wollstonecraft Cafe - Wollstonecraft Train Station from where North Sydney Council's Bushland Team will guide participants through Smoothey Park and Gore Cove to view, and discuss points of interest in, a Blackbutt Gully Forest, Sandstone Gallery Rainforest and North Sydney's sole remaining Salt Marsh Community. From here, onto Berry Island to walk the Gadyan Track to discover a huge Aboriginal engraving, experience an Angophora Foreshore Forest and take in the views of beautiful Sydney Harbour. Toilets and water available here.

Wollstonecraft Train Station is a 15 minute walk up hill from Berry Island.

This is medium grade walk suitable for people 12 years of age and above, it should take up to 3 hours in total accounting for rest breaks and discussions at points of interest.
