Fun and fantasy in Market Square Burra Saturday October 1 9am to noon.
Come to the Goyder region for our garden festival, join in the scarecrow competition. Doesn't matter whether young or old, we have sections for both and entry is free. Market stalls, music and face painting for kids as well aas cafes to relax over lunch. ABC 639 radio presenter Angela Smallacombe, will judge the scarecrows and open the event.
On to the gardens, there are 11 in 3 towns, open both Saturday and sunday 10am to 4pm. Hallett is the exception, open Sunday only 10am to 4pm.
Take the opportunity to book into one of our heritage B&B's, spend the weekend and take a look at some of the world class scenery the area offers off the beaten track. Local flora is at it's best during spring, take the Dare's Hill drive for a look.
Our gardens are all made by their owners with respect to our varying climate, from -8 to 45c in summer. Hardy plants stone walls, artistic interpratations and a love of the area make the gardens a perfect place to spend some time, and relax chatting to locals.
