Description

Ms. Debbie Stothard is the founder and coordinator of the Alternative ASEAN Network on Burma (ALTSEAN-Burma). She is an active promoter of human rights in Burma/Myanmar and within the ASEAN region. She has participated in every step of democracy building in Myanmar, including organising advocacy meetings and campaigns on human rights, and these activities have led her to work in collaboration with UN and ASEAN institutions as well as several governments in Asia, North America and Europe. Ms. Stothard is the current Secretary-General of the International Federation for Human Rights, an international coalition of human rights groups.
