About 'Bunny Money'
Aimed at 6 to 10 year olds, this picture book is a fun way to teach your child about saving.
The story is about Nate and Nessa, who just got new bikes for their 10th birthday and $100 from Gran! However, that's not all they'll be getting... Through the $100 gift, Gran teaches Nate and Nessa about saving.
Accompanied by two A3 savings tracker posters like the ones Nate and Nessa use in the book.
On sale at this event ($22) or online ($22 + postage and handling).
Praise for 'Bunny Money'
'It's a brilliant little book; simple and enticing enough for a child to understand and get a great habit started early.'
- Pauline, grandmother of Lily.
'It is full of fabulous information and so well presented. I will definitely help my grand daughter with this process.'- Jennifer, grandmother of four.
About the Author, Lacey White
Lacey is a passionate advocate for raising financially savvy kids. Having been taught about money by her mother, she believes the best way for kids to learn good money management skills is in the home. She wrote 'Bunny Money' to help parents take the first step on the financial education journey.
'Bunny Money' is published under her maiden name because is was printed in 2010 before she married. This is the first (and only) launch. The story behind why it's taken six years to celebrate this wonderful book is a quirky and heart-warming one with important lessons for kidpreneurs. Lacey will be sharing that story in her speech at the book launch.
Lacey will also be signing purchased copies of the book packs at the launch - what a great Christmas gift for the primary school student in your life!
Lacey also has an online course that teaches parents how to teach their children about money (without boring them and with no prior knowledge needed!) She is widely quoted in local and national media.
About the Kidpreneur Showcase
Lacey heard from some of her clients and seminar attendees about great examples of entrepreneurial thinking from their kids, for example:
- Ash starting a lip balm business,
- Kale and Jewel raising hens to sell their eggs and manure to neighbours, and
- Charlotte and Leo running a curbside bake stall with a $40 loan from Mum and Dad.
Not only do these children deserve recognition for their achievements, they are fabulous role models for other children who haven’t had the courage or opportunity to try their ideas yet. The book launch was an excellent opportunity to encourage and support children to try business ideas by showcasing some established kidpreneurs.
There will be five hand-picked kidpreneur stalls at the event. Attendees will have the opportunity to buy from the kidpreneurs directly (cash only please).
