Event description

Description

This two day workshop offers participants a rare opportunity to learn from Bundjalung textile artists the Wake Up Time women and the Kunwinjku women from Injalak Arts, Northern Territory.

The Kunwinjku women are travelling to our region to collaborate with the Wake Up Time women from Casino engaging in a two week cultural exchange - sharing stories, language, skills and techniques.

The workshop offers participants the opportunity to engage and meet with both the Bundjalung and Kunwinjku women in an intimate environment. With hands on guidance you will be guided through the weaving process exploring the collection of natural materials, dying native materials and weaving techniques of both the Bundjalung and Kunwinjku groups.
