Bundanon Open Day: 2021
Event Information
About this Event
The Homestead, Arthur Boyd’s Studio, the gardens and grounds are open every Sunday (+ Saturday's in January) from 10.30am to 4pm. Talks and Homestead tours at 11.30am & 2pm.
Set in heritage gardens and grounds the Bundanon Homestead acquired by Arthur and Yvonne Boyd in 1979 is the perfect setting from which to build an understanding of the creative life of one of the most important families in Australian art history.
Arthur Boyd's Studio remains one of the most significant artistic sites in the country. Left as it was when he finished working there in 1998 the studio unpacks the working method of the artist and was the place where many of his greatest artworks were created, including the painting of the Shoalhaven bush on which the tapestry which now hangs in the Great Hall of Parliament House in Canberra was based.
Spend the day wandering the historic homestead, Arthur's studio, gardens and unique landscape of Bundanon, nestled along the Shoalhaven River. Learn about the heritage of the site, the Boyd family Dynasty and be inspired by Arthur Boyd's studio and works.
