Hume’s rural areas make up half the municipality. They provide an expansive landscape between the urban areas of the Hume Corridor and Sunbury that is home to natural and heritage values and a range of rural activities.
Hume City Council has released a Draft Rural Strategy that offers a vision for Hume’s rural areas for Council and the community to work towards over the next 20 years.
With the onset of COVID-19 restrictions, Council decided to extend the Hume draft Rural Strategy consultation period until face-to-face community drop in sessions can be held.
Since then, Council has commenced reopening facilities and is beginning to resume services in line the with the recommendations of the Victoria Government.
This now allows us to schedule face-to-face drop in sessions, with a COVID Safe plan in place and give you the opportunity to speak in person with Council officers about the draft Rural Strategy.
For a copy of the Draft Rural Strategy, please click here to head to Council's main website.
If you are unable to attend this event, another information session will be held in Sunbury on March 10. You can find the link to register to attend the Sunbury information session here.
In the event that we need to cancel the sessions due to COVID 19 restrictions, we will contact all registered attendees.
If you are uncomfortable attending due to coronavirus or unable to attend a face to face information session at the times available, Council officers are available to arrange an online meeting or phone call to answer questions about the draft Rural Strategy.
Please contact us by calling 9205 2489 or email contactus@hume.vic.gov.au.
We look forward to discussing the strategy with you.
