This year, Christ Church is focusing on Pastoral Care and Mental Health. On Friday 15 May, our online seminar will look into the very important theme of Resilience for youth aged kids. Resilience means being able to stand up to challenges, to face setbacks and move forward in difficult times. We are hoping this event will start conversations between youth and their caregivers as they grow into healthy and resilient adults.
We have invited Steve Dinning who is a Family Skills Facilitator with Anglicare to come and help us navigate this important topic. In "Building Resilience in Youth", we will learn about the development of the teenage brain, help youth understand their emotions and work out some useful strategies to be resilience in a world of opportunities and challenges.
Our Christ Church family cares for our community and wants people to have the skills to maintain their health, whether it be physical, mental or spiritual health. This is an important seminar that we are providing free so that we can all learn together. Please join us online and develop skills that build resilience.
Steve is a Family Skills Facilitator with Anglicare and has worked with families as a social worker and an Anglican minister. He is married to Anne and currently they’re navigating the teen years with their daughters Jessica and Rebekah.
