About this Event

Building Resilience and Braving Change

“Derek Redmond bravely making it through with little help, moments of euphoria after years of hard work. Moments when the human spirit triumphs over injury that should have been impossible to overcome." - President Barack Obama

Whether at work or at home, things don't always go your way. Learning to be resilient and to cope with change are essential skills for any individual or organisation.

Most of us are OK at setting ourselves personal and professional goals, but dealing with set-backs and staying motivated and focused in those moments when it feels like the rug has been ripped from under our feet can be a little harder...

Derek Redmond, one of the UK's most famous athletes, knows a thing or two about disappointment. Through a sporting career that spanned athletics, basketball and rugby, he dealt with more than his fair share of set-backs, most famously at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics (check out the video below - you've probably seen it before). Yet time and again, Derek has been able to pick himself up and go again.

On 22nd October, Derek will be in Sydney speaking about his experiences from both his sporting career and his transition into the business world, and sharing insights into the lessons he has learned and the approach that has enabled him to get back up time and time again after big disappointments.

Don't miss this rare opportunity to hear Derek in Australia. And of course there will be free food, drinks and networking to boot!
