Building cultural intelligence and skills to connect with people from diverse cultural backgrounds is a critical and contributing factor toward building a respectful, inclusive community at Deakin. This session introduces the concept of intersectionality, discusses strategies to build inclusivity, and builds practical skills for cross-cultural communication.
Facilitator: Alicea Yu, Coordinator of Training and Capacity Building, is an experienced trainer whose previous roles included operations consulting and learning and development at KPMG Australia. Alicea is passionate about inclusion and diversity, particularly building an understanding of LGBTQIA+ identities and the experiences of Asian and other culturally diverse people.
