Event description
Building climate resilience in the community sector in Yarra

About this event

The impacts of climate change are already being felt in communities across Yarra. community service organisations are at the forefront of responding to these challenges and the need to build long-term community resilience.

This training, hosted by Jesuit Social Services and City of Yarra, will consider the risks and predicted impacts that a changing climate poses for community service operations, and the emerging responsibilities in this uncertain environment.

We’ll explore how climate change may impact your work, as well as offer tools to adapt organisational cultures, practices and operations that can respond equitably and responsibly to climate risks.

Held over two sessions, participants return to workshop 2 to share reflections on their own practice and organisation.

It doesn’t matter where you or your organisation are in the journey of understanding or adapting to climate change, join the training to learn with others.

Who should attend? Community service staff across service delivery, operations, policy, community development and management. Participants do not need to be working directly in sustainable or environmental projects, and no prior knowledge of climate change is required.

Please book in for both sessions.
