Event description

Description

The Annual MEMEG Forum provides an opportunity for Local Government emergency management practitioners to share lessons learned and showcase their good practice. It also provides an opportunity for local government to discuss statewide issued including how we can develop better partnership arrangements with other agencies.

This years theme is “Capability”. As well as showcasing examples of good practice, this year’s forum will involve attendees working through a series of scenarios. The purpose of this is to establish:

  • What would be the appropriate role of local government in a given emergency scenario?

  • Who in local government would undertake that role?

  • What competencies would that person require?

  • What are the existing pathways to obtaining those competencies?

  • What are the examples of required competencies with no identified training pathways?

The Forum this year is quite centrally located to Victoria, in beautiful Ballarat at the MECURE Hotel and Convention Centre, 613 Main Road Ballarat. We have secured some subsidised accommodation opportunites for those that need to travel significant distances.

There will morning tea on arrival and a buffet style lunch. Some dietary requests will be catered for.

If you would like further information, have any specific dietary requirements or to discuss accomodation possibilities please email: emmatters@nillumbik.vic.gov.au or phone 9433 3160.
