Building Aboriginal Cultural Competency for My Aged Care assessors

About this Event

Working appropriately with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples in My Aged Care (Building Aboriginal Cultural Competency) is part of the minimum training requirement to be undertaken by My Aged Care assessors.

The Department has engaged the Koori Heritage Trust to deliver this training to both the RAS and ACAS assessment workforce in 2018-19. The Koori Heritage Trust will conduct face-to-face training sessions in Melbourne and selected rural areas.

This invitation reflects the sessions planned for Sale on the 29th April 2019. Sessions have also been scheduled for Bendigo on the 11th of February, Morwell on the 18th of February, Benalla on the 5th March, Metro Melbourne on the 7th, 20th and 25th of March 2019, Warrnambool on the 26th of March and Horsham on the 10th of April 2019. Sessions scheduled for Metro Melbourne in February 2019 have been fully subscribed.

Further invitations will be forthcoming for metro Melbourne in April and the regional centre of Kerang.

There is capacity for 25 participants per session. Light lunch will be provided.
