Build Aware Trade Breakfast - Ballarat

The Build Aware program involves a partnership between Energy Safe Victoria (ESV), Environment Protection Authority (EPA), Victorian Building Authority (VBA) and WorkSafe Victoria, working together to deliver industry oversight of laws that protect owners and builders and the community.

The four regulators deliver joint activities across five days. This includes inspections, an industry trade breakfast and educational presentations to apprentices at local TAFEs to help Victorians understand their obligations to comply with building, construction, environment, plumbing, and occupational health and safety laws.

Topics covered in the breakfast include:

• Risks associated with crystalline silica.
• Changes to the OHS regulations. (Including the requirements to identify 'high-risk' crystalline silica work).
• Occupational health and safety laws for building, construction, and plumbing.
• And more!

Representatives from EPA, ESV, VBA, and WorkSafe will be available to discuss construction-related hazards impacting the Ballarat building industry.
