Event description

Description

It is with the greatest of pleasure that we cordially invite you to Brookside College's Resilience, Rights and Respectful Relationships Community Forum.

During this evening you will hear from both our students and parents on the importance of the Resilience Rights and Respectful Relationship Curriculum.

Guest speaker for this evening will be Professor Helen Cahill. Professor Cahill has a distinguished career and reputation both internationally and nationally in youth studies, education and teacher development. She was the lead author of the the Resilience, Rights and Respectful Relationships Program, which equips young people with the skills needed to thrive in an ever-changing world.

Professor Cahill leads inter-disciplinary and multi-method research with a particular focus on the use of participatory methods to investigate youth wellbeing, sexuality, mental health, gender and youth leadership. She has authored many wellbeing education programs for use in Australian schools and community settings in the Asia-Pacific region, and is currently leading a suite of research projects variously investigating resilience, social and emotional learning, and the prevention of gender-based violence.

This evening will be informative, powerful and will outline the importance of the Resilience, Rights and Respectful Relationships Initiative.
