Exploration Data Workshop, Broken Hill 12.45pm - 4.30pm Tuesday 25 July 2017

Department of Planning and Environment, Government Offices, 32 Sulphide Street, Broken Hill NSW 2880

This free, half-day workshop is designed for anyone who works with geoscientific data, and wants to learn more about what is available from the Geological Survey of NSW. The workshop is designed to be interactive, and therefore attendees will need to provide their own laptop.

The workshop will commence at 12:45 pm. Attendees will learn about the new MinView application, while examining the State's new seamless geology dataset for the Broken Hill region and the rich geoscientific datasets available from the data warehouse. They will also learn how to download the reports or publications using the powerful new DIGS search engine, explore hyperspectral data captured for NSW under the NVCL program and view the Survey's models from the 3D mapping projects.

This interactive Workshop will take place at the Government Offices, Broken Hill and afternoon tea will be provided.

Program includes:

  • Unlocking data in the DIGS system

  • Discover and download geological data using MinView

  • Seamless Geology Project: new western NSW and fault attribution data

  • Visualising and downloading 3D data

  • Accessing National Virtual Core Library (NVCL) hyperspectral data
