Event description

Description

Broadsheet and hip designer hotel QT Sydney have partnered to present a series of cult flicks, handpicked and curated by Ben Kenny, owner of Film Club in Darlinghurt, which will be screened in QT's state-of-the-art theatre room over a three-month event series.

To kick off the series, 2007 American comedy Hot Rod will be screened on Thursday September 28th. Co-written and directed by Andy Samberg, Jorma Taccone and Akiva Schaffer, Hot Rod stars Samberg as an amateur stuntman whose abusive step-father, Frank continuously mocks and disrespects him. When Frank grows ill, Rod raises money for his heart operation by executing his largest stunt yet. In addition to raising money for the operation, he also does so to win Frank's respect, by kicking his butt.

Included in each booking is a cinema ticket, a themed cocktail and the choice of a choc top or popcorn.

There will be an open bar where further beverages and food can be purchased on the night.

*Doors open at 6.00pm; film will commence at 7.00pm
