Event description

Description

As part of a global gender equality advocacy initiative to increase men’s parental leave participation, we are holding an international business leaders event and photographic exhibition.

Designed to inspire UK workplaces to collaborate, this event exhibition aims to ‘shine a light’ on the important role of fathers in caring roles and advancing the conversation that normalises men taking parental leave. This is the first time the exhibition has visited the UK.

About this International Think Tank Forum & Photography Exhibition

Hosted by University College London, in collaboration with the Embassy of Sweden and Parents At Work, the award winning ‘Swedish Dads’ photographs by Johan Bavman, will be available for private viewing at the event. Making their debut will also be a series of ‘Aussie Dads’ photographs by Johan commissioned by international education provider, Parents At Work.

Please join the discussion with leading organisations, experts, researchers and policy advisors including Parents At Work, Working Families UK, Government Equalities Office and University College London as they collaborate with the business community examining progress and challenges in the UK, Sweden and Australia and explore:

  • Improving employer-supported parental leave policies and how they can increase participation of UK fathers taking parental leave.
  • The benefits of advancing men’s participation in parental leave and flexible work; recognising the positive impact it has on women, men, children, society and the broader economy.
  • Key research findings on the challenges that hold men back from participating in parental leave and flexible work.
  • Advancing shared care participation by men and women and reduce prejudice and discrimination and promote inclusiveness of those with caring commitments.

The think tank event will be a morning educational, networking and collaboration session.

Register & networking from 9.00am. Welcome address by Swedish Ambassador to the UK, Torbjörn Sohlström.

Don’t miss this exclusive event and exhibition. Be part of the discussion to advance gender equality and shared parental leave.
