Event description

Description

The sharing economy has been gaining traction through platforms such as Uber, Airbnb and Airtasker as a novel way of connecting people as small-scale consumers and producers.

This event brings together various leaders in Brisbane’s sharing economy to discuss the benefits, and potential obstacles and challenges, to the sharing economy.

Speakers will present a range of perspectives on how the sharing economy provides novel solutions to various ‘wicked problems’ in cities, with a focus on how future developments can promote urban sustainability.

Meet the presenters:

Graziella Thake has 27 years of committed experience in program writing, delivery, coaching and support facilitation for leaders of business and industry. Graziella’s background is in psychology and she has valuable experience working with businesses working within the share economy.

Deb Morrison is the founder and CEO of PetCloud – an Australian fast-growing sharing economy web-based business – like Airbnb, but for pets. Guided by experts and industry leaders from the animal welfare, pet and vet, and IT industries, PetCloud serves thousands of pet sitters and owners.

Sabrina Chakori is Founder of Brisbane Tool Library and a PhD candidate at The University of Queensland. She’s been working for a more environmentally sustainable society for more than a decade, leading numerous collaborations. Sabrina is convinced of the necessity to change the roots of our economy in order to solve our social and ecological crises.

Rob Brown is the Co-Founder and Managing Director of KERB, a global peer-to-peer parking app. One of Australia’s most prominent marketers, Rob is a regular international keynote speaker and has appeared on BBC World, Channel 9 News and in The Huffington Post.
