What are we in for?

Ok, let me take you on a little journey to a place called Bali woven with the sound and taste of India. Warm chai, space to move, breath and bend to the guidance of Bodhi & Trent in their calm yet powerful way. The smell of curry fills my lungs after an extended shivasana. The colours and vibe bring me back into the moment as I feel like im on the other side of the world away from all of my life stresses. I just want to melt into the mat as Trent brings me back with his soft awakening ques. I feel restored, like i can finally breathe and Bodhi is sharing this Art form of expansive breathing. I feel alive again, like I really want to change some aspects and stresser's in my life. I feel inspired to shift and grow, like now. Im over waiting for the right moment. The journey continues into the winter element in June for a real warming, nurturing and fun loving day.

How often will URBAN YOGA RETREATS run?

We both love the Taoist way of moving with the seasons. We will run a retreat every 3 months. Changing and evolving with the laws and currents of nature. Like a natural flow of non-resistance. It give us all a chance to stop, check in and really reflect on not only what is going on for you but what is going in in nature right now and what the season brings according to Traditional Chinese Medicine. Trent is an acupuncturist and I have spent a lot of time living with my Mum who is also an acupuncturist and really drummed in the energetics of living with the seasons from a very early age. It just makes sense and we would like to offer some insights into this 'art of living'.

How did this retreat come together?

We met at one of our most inspiring yoga teacher (Simon Park) workshop in Eumundi 2 years ago and had an immediate connection. Within months we were catching up, sharing new sequences, talking esoteric and had this understanding of where each other were at. We had both discovered yoga after choices and actions that left us in places, jobs and friend groups that were destructive to our health and life. That was it, it's like we had both dedicated our selves to living well and enjoying all that life has to offer, the seen and unseen. " I recall one day driving back with Trent after one of his early morning classes and we were listening to reggae, singing away when the idea came up. Trent was talking about going back to India to immerse in Yoga again. I had been feeling it too so a spark just went off. We looked at each other and bang. Bro let's bring all of the goodness of a retreat in India to Brisbane. We can offer a real yoga experience that we love, share this feeling in a full day and take people on this journey into new depths". I was already working at Soul Space Brisbane and loved the light, clean and spacious feel it offered. So we booked a date and created our first Retreat which played out in September 2014. It was a hit, a full circle of individuals gathered to experience what we had to share. A mile stone for both of us and a new level of depth in our relationship. The journey continues as we surf, study, move and grow in our own way together.
