Event description

Description

This workshop is designed to strengthen the knowledge of teachers about Structured Teaching strategies to support students with autism in the classroom.

Students with autism often need support with executive functioning skills. These skills are needed to successfully transition between tasks, start a new task, and complete complex tasks. Structured Teaching resources such as visual schedules and work systems have been found to enhance the capacity of students with autism to stay on task and transition between tasks.

During the workshop participants will have the opportunity to explore resources available to implement a systematic approach to learning and teaching through the use of:

  • visual schedules

  • work systems

Please note, teacher aides are welcome to attend this workshop.
