Alison Grimaldi

Alison Grimaldi, Sports Physiotherapist

Alison Grimaldi is an Australian Sports Physiotherapist with over 25 years of clinical experience and a special interest in the management of hip pain. She is practice principal of Physiotec Physiotherapy in Tarragindi and an Adjunct Research Fellow for the School of Health & Rehabilitation Sciences at UQ. Alison completed her Bachelor of Physiotherapy, Masters of Physiotherapy in Sports and a PhD through the University of Queensland. Her research focused on function and dysfunction of the lateral stability mechanism of the hip and pelvis. Alison teaches widely in Australia and internationally on the management of hip pain and has recently co-authored chapters in three leading physiotherapy and sports medicine textbooks.

David Bick

David Bick, Sports Physiotherapist,B App Sc (Physio), Grad Dip (Sports Physio), Dip App Sc (Med. Rad)

David was a founding partner at ‘Sydney Sports Medicine Centre’ in 1992 at Sydney Olympic Park. He worked there for 12 years, working with several Olympic sports during this period alongside many of Australia's leading surgeons. David was appointed as Physiotherapist to the Wallabies Australian Rugby Union team in 2001 and worked with them until the 2007 Rugby World Cup in France. Following an international stint as Harry Kewell's personal physio he returned to work at Queensland Sports Medicine Centre.David has a passion in accelerated rehabilitation in the first 4 weeks post a non meniscal repair in ACL reconstructions.

Professor Jim Richards

Professor Jim Richards

Professor Richards’ research includes much work on clinical application of biomechanics, the development of new assessment tools for chronic disease, conservative and surgical management of orthopaedic and neurological conditions, and development of evidence based approaches for improving clinical management and rehabilitation. The focus of Professor Richards’ work is to encourage inter-professional research and to develop direct parallels with research to the ‘real world’ of allied health work.

Mr Cliff Eaton

Mr Cliff Eaton | MSc BSc (Hons) MCSP

Cliff Eaton has spent his career working in professional sport at an elite level. He has been published in internationally recognised Journals on Sport Specific Rehabilitation. Cliff believes in three core skills advocated by the Chartered Society of Physiotherapists: Manual Therapy, Exercise Therapy and Electrotherapy, combined to provide the best care management for patients. Cliff will discuss anecdotal evidence and contemporaneous clinical research to support the use of Shockwave Therapy for Tendinopathies and Neuromuscular Electrical Simulation for ACL Rehab.

What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?

Parking – Broncos Leagues Club offers free car parking for visitors and an undercover car park for members. There is also a number of street parking available. Disabled parking bays are conveniently located close to the entry pathways in both members and visitors car parks.
