Event description

Description

Hi there,

My name is Birdy O'Sheedy and I'm a clinical psychologist, coach and professional dog-nerd. I have founded Paws In Life Coaching in Waitara, Sydney. I'm currently completing my NDTF (National Dog Trainers Federation) course. I have always been fascinated with behaviour and how to change behaviour to gain more quality of life, despite tricky circumstances. I'm a big fan of evidence-based methods and have trained in quite a few methods world-wide.

So why are we hosting "THE BRAVERY WORKSHOP"?

My dog Luna had to go through a lengthy behaviour modification program, which to be honest, wasn't always an easy ride. I was very lucky as I had access to an amazing dog trainer who always had my back, and never gave up on us. Furthermore, I realised that I benefited from some psychology techniques that helped to speed up training, and which proved to be very effective. And I want to pass on my knowledge that I've gained from this experience, so that others can also have a happy end to their behaviour modification journey with their dog.

SO WHAT IS "THE BRAVERY WORKSHOP" about?

This 1-day workshop is designed for dog trainers who want to learn more about how to engage, motivate and trouble shoot common problems with the human at the end of the lead. Only limited spaces available.

Topics covered in the workshop:

  • You will learn about unhelpful behaviours and thought processes that frequently interfere and stop the human-dog couple from moving forward

  • You will learn how you can apply "THE PACT MODEL" to formulate and problem solve the issues of the dog owner

  • How do you establish a culture of "BRAVERY" in your clients, rather than it being fearful, argumentative and/or avoidant.

  • You will learn to read human stress signals and learn strategies how humans calm down the fastest and best way

  • You will learn how to motivate your clients better and how they can be more psychologically flexible in the behaviour modification program with their dog

  • You will be shown strategies how to increase the confidence and self-esteem in your clients

  • We will discuss and trouble shoot difficult cases from your personal experience

So how do you know, if "THE BRAVERY WORKSHOP" is for you?

  • You are a dogtrainer who is offering behaviour modification programs to your clients

  • You are dealing with clients that get stuck in the process, are avoidant of doing the work or feel very pessimistic and defensive about the process

  • You would like to learn more about how to enhance the potential in your clients and learn how to trouble shoot common problems that a lot of dog trainers face with the human at the end of the lead, and as a result, enjoy your work more.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me through our contact form on the homepage:
