Event description
Writing workshops at Yankalilla Library continue in the second half of 2021.

About this event

These workshops are suitable for adult writers and consist of four individual sessions that can be booked separately. Dr Kathryn Pentecost has been guiding emerging writers for several years at the library, and is keen to continue to help participants to hone their writing skills.

In 2021, we’ll focus on several themes through specific exercises with the aim of building a body of work.

Each workshop will be delivered via Zoom. If there are Zoom or access issues, please talk to Library staff for assistance.

Sessions can be booked individually:

Thursday August 26. Theme – Point of View, Authorial Voice

Thursday September 23. Theme – Character: defining and shaping your characters

Thursday October 21. Theme – Plots and subplots: making your work more dramatic

Thursday November 18. Theme – Editing your work: What are the best methods for editing your work?

These workshops are suitable for both non-fiction (e.g. memoir) and fiction writers.

Free events. Bookings essential.
