Bringing Up Great Kids 6-Week Parenting Program

By MacKillop Regional Parenting Service

Overview

Join our 6-week Bringing Up Great Kids program to build positive, mindful parenting skills for children aged 0–6.

Bringing Up Great Kids (BUGK) is a 6-week mindful parenting program designed for parents and carers of children aged 0–6 years. This interactive course helps you reflect on your parenting style, understand its influences, and learn practical strategies to respond to your child’s needs calmly and thoughtfully.

The program aims to assist parents with:

  • Understand the relationship between their children’s emotions and their behaviour
  • Support their children to manage strong emotions and deal with conflict
  • How your parenting style has developed
  • Your child’s brain development and emotional needs
  • Ways to communicate effectively and build positive relationships
  • Understand the link between emotions and behaviour and respond more mindfully to your child’s behaviour
  • Strategies for managing stress and practising self-care

The program is fun, guilt-free, and strengths-based, focusing on connection rather than perfection. By the end, you’ll feel more confident, supported, and equipped to enjoy the journey of parenthood.
