Event description

Description

Respectful Relationships Banner

This Workshop will bring together Lead and Partner Schools participating in the Respectful Relationships (RR) Initiative in Brimbank-Melton.

Parents, carers and families are the first and most important influence in a child's life, instilling the values that will support young people to participate in schooling and contribute to broader local and global communities. Most of children’s learning takes place outside formal settings like a school, and rather in informal learning settings like the home, sporting clubs and extra-curricular activities.

When educators and families work together as partners, students’ knowledge, competencies and attitudes that support respectful relationships can be enhanced through mutually reinforced messages and activities at home and at school.

What does effective family engagement in RR look like?

What are some of the challenges in engaging families and how can we bridge these?
