This Workshop will bring together Lead and Partner Schools participating in the Respectful Relationships (RR) Initiative in Brimbank-Melton.

This session will explore the Health and Social Capability Curriculum, including how teaching about respectful relationships links to the Victorian Curriculum. The main focus of the session will be on using the Victorian Curriculum for planning and teaching a learning program. This program will be hands-on, involving a review of current teaching and learning programs and reflection about the changes that need to be made to address the Health and Personal and Social Capability Curriculum. It will focus on:

  • An overview of the curriculum structure.

  • An introduction to the Health and Personal and Social Capability areas of the Victorian Curriculum and how these relate to Respectful Relationships.

  • Identifying where schools are at in relation to curriculum planning and identifying the next steps.

  • Supporting development of curriculum plans.

  • Teaching and learning plans to address the Victorian Curriculum for Health & the Personal and Social Capability.

  • Identification of teaching and learning resources

Additionally Lead and Partner schools will have an opportunity to share practice around RR curriculum implementation.

The session will also focus on how to cater for students from diverse populations, including those with additional needs.
