Join us to hear first-hand from one of Australia’s preeminent philanthropists, Susan Alberti AC, as she shares her story on being a successful business operator, sporting administrator, philanthropist and more.
Susan Alberti AC has donated millions of dollars to medical research and other charitable causes over her successful business career.
Susan developed a passion for medical research after her only child developed Type 1 Diabetes, and has a lifelong commitment to raise funds for better prevention, treatment and to find a cure. This ambition has also led to her broader focus on medical research.
Susan’s interests and community service ranges across a number of fields including sport, and she is well known for her significant contribution to the Australian Football League particularly in her role as the Vice President of the current AFL Premiers, the Western Bulldogs. Susan is also a strong supporter of the newly established AFL Women’s National League.
On Australia Day 2016 Susan was awarded the Companion of the Order of Australia (AC) Award in recognition of her eminent service to the community, particularly through philanthropic and fundraising support for a range of medical research, education and for the mentoring of young women. Susan has twice been a finalist in the Australian of the Year Award in 1997 and again in 2009.
