The Ministry of White is thrilled to announce our first ever bridal retail business workshop! If you are in the business of brides, a stylist, designer or retail business creative this 'how to' masterclass is an absolute MUST!
We invite you to the beautiful surrounds of the Sydney studio to spend the day learning and lunching with a lady who has not only made a full time living from her creative, bridal retail business but has built it into a successful, international, luxury brand (in one of the toughest markets to do so) and it's now synonymous with brides around the world.
INCLUDES: Fresh tea, coffee and juices with morning tea, gourmet lunch and afternoon tea, all materials and some take home goodies (Hand picked by Leah) to help you on your way.
ABOUT LEAH: Leah Da Gloria has well and truly made her mark in the Australian fashion world! A graduate from the Sydney Institute of Design and a stint on the hit television show ‘Project Runway’, Leah has worked within the fashion industry at some of Australia's most distinguished labels and officially launched her own brand in 2012. With over 200K followers on social media and a thriving retail business with brides lining up at the door for her modern and sophisticated take on custom made event and bridal gowns – Leah is here to share her advice on becoming successful in a sector where so many fail. Sharing her start up tails and stories of how she began her couture business giving you an insight to the journey, break of a lifetime and countless hours of hard work that made her a big name in the bridal world.
WHAT WE WILL COVER: Over ground fresh coffee the day begins with Leahs start up story from humble beginnings in a garage to her time spent on the ‘Project Runway TV show’ and the now successful luxury, international bridal brand Leah now owns and operates. She talks about the valuable lessons learnt and gives you her step by step process needed to build strong foundations for a retail business in one of the most competitive sectors of the landscape including: Getting your name out there – her marketing and PR dos and don’ts, editorial looks – how to stand out from the crowd and her social media tips – how to advertise your brand and actually get customers flocking to your business.
Then, Leah’s day-to-day running of the store and her service how to’s from her appointment process, sales, customer care, complaints and problems! Then, her tips on strengthening customer loyalty long term.
After a delicious sit down lunch together – Leah gives her thoughts on why bridal businesses are ‘going out of business?’ And what mistakes you should avoid. She gives her how to’s on client contracts and the importance of protection. Leah talks charging for your time – just how should you price your stock? And what other things you should consider for cash flow.
Then, you’ll get busy, in a secret hands on ‘Project Runway’ workshop! Leah lets you in on her couture design process, sourcing and her must have systems you need to have in place to work with a client from start to finish to ensure not only a well executed product but a high quality experience for the emotionally charged client (something anybody in the events & wedding industry will need to master). Followed by a little side discussion on copycats - how she deals with authenticity and competition.
As the day comes to an end, Leah gives us a sneak peak at her latest collection and talks us through her 2017 trend report.
We then conclude with an open Q&A and general chat session before sending you on your way with a bag of goodies - all hand selected by Leah.
