Event description
Discussion panel to explore the relationship between masculinities and mental health issues.

About this event

There is a growing awareness of the relationship between masculinities and mental health issues. As many men struggle with mental health, some are reluctant to seek support as they 1) may not recognize their issues as legitimate and/or 2) view seeking help as admitting weakness. Masculinity – and conceptions of masculinity – clearly play a pivotal part.

Our panel discussion is focused on how gender formations of culture can serve as an impediment to self-care.

Date, Time, Location: June 16th, 11am, Building 24, Room 402

Speakers: Kenneth Pakenham, Mair Underwood, Lachlan Henry, Elias Blanch, Franc Hayes
