On Saturday 6th May Yah Yah's will be gettin' in with the rock'n'roll set when we host a very special side show for the 11th annual Cherry Rock Festival! Two International guests in Bala (Spain) and Bottlecap (Sweden) will be joined by local psych' blues outfit Child to take over the Yah Yah's bandstand for an absolute ball tearer of a night, offering anyone who'll unfortunately miss this years festival of rock in AC/DC Lane the chance to catch these great acts before heading abroad. Bala are an exciting female two piece from the land of bull fighting, with an amped up and fuzzed out sound that harken back to the intense rock bands of the 90's with tinges of grunge, underground punk and stoner riffage. Bottlecap is a trio of young skinny men from Gothenburg City and you if you like a wild show, you will love them. Cherry owner James Young has painted them in the light of their fellow countrymen The Hives and also the Helicopters due to their explosive garage rock sound. This is a band writing great songs and doing furious live performances across Europe. Child are local favourites who continued their quest to impress last year with the release of their sophomore effort Blueside; steeped in heavy rock traditionalism and blue-eyed soul with epic adventurous riffs.
