Boomerang Bag Sewing Day
Event Information
Description
We're excited!
A very generous offer by Helena College will allow us to use their Darlington Campus Helena House Hall as a workshop venue for some regular Boomerang Bag workshops. At the moment we're thinking every first Tuesday of the month, starting on August 1st. We need lots of these alternative bags to help our community transition to the plastic-free shopping habit.
Come and join in the creative fun (with a social purpose).
Bring along:
- sewing gear (machine &/or overlocker if you have one)
- any spare material (strong enough for shopping bags)
These community-created Boomerang Bags are placed at participating local shops and are available free to Borrow & Bring Back. They encourage a habit of re-use amongst local shoppers and are part of a transitional strategy to encourage the use of natural alternatives AND Ban Single-use Plastic Bags in our Shire (and the world)!
This is a joint campaign by the Wasteless Pantry and Mundaring in Transition.
Hope we see you soon, so sign up for Workshop Notifications.
