Paul Irish Author Talk

What happened to Sydney’s Aboriginal people after the arrival of the First Fleet in 1788?

To celebrate History Week join historian and author Paul Irish as he shares his research of local Aboriginal people from 1788 to the early twentieth century. Hidden in Plain View will open your eyes to the enduring Aboriginal history of Sydney.

He has worked on the presentation of Aboriginal history at Sydney Living Museums, and has contributed to the Dictionary of Sydney and the City of Sydney Barani website.

His 2017 release Hidden in Plain View: The Aboriginal People of Coastal Sydney was the winner of the NSW Regional and Community History Prize at the 2018 NSW Premier's History Awards and was shortlisted for Australian History in the 2018 Prime Minister's Literary Awards.
