Description

Celebrating unique expressions of identity, culture and community, Kafe As Poume comes alive during Inner West Festival 2018. Join a series of free workshops for adults and children, set inside the Kafe As Poume kitchen installation, hosted by practitioners spanning art, cuisine and textiles.

Book Binding Workshop and Vegetable Stamps Led by Kim Siew (AKISIEW).

Open to ages 14 and over.

In this 2 hour workshop you will create your very own notebook to use for recipes, journal making, or to gift to a friend.

Discover the beauty of vegetables and spices for home stamping and dye. (In this workshop we will use red cabbage, onions and turmeric). Then, learn how to bind beautiful scrap papers, lined pages and art paper together using Saddle Stitch - a simple book binding technique for Beginners.

All materials will be provided, but if you have your own collection of scrap papers at home that you would like to use, please feel free to bring them along with you.

Entry to the workshop is free, however participants are encouraged to bring a pantry item to donate to Newtown's Asylum Seekers Centre. See their website for suggested items:
