Event description

Description

Bond University’s Faculty of Society & Design is pleased to host the 2018 Bond University High School Model United Nations (BUHMUN) Conference at Bond University’s Gold Coast Campus.

In 2018 BUHMUN will be taking place over two days, Thursday May 24th and Friday May 25th. A Model UN, or MUN, is a simulation-based learning exercise that will see High School delegates adopt the persona of an allocated country and subsequently represent that country during a simulation of UN proceedings.

The 2018 BUHMUN will address the topic ‘To End Poverty in All its Forms Everywhere’.

BUHMUN aims to replicate the work and procedures of the United Nations by following the UN4MUN procedure which was developed by the UN’s Dept. of Public Information. That being said, BUHMUN is not your traditional Model UN Conference. BUHMUN will be a summit style meeting of the General Assembly with each committee addressing different topics.

The committee topics for 2018 are:

Committee Room 1 | Women and Children as the Victims of Poverty

Committee Room 2 | Poverty and Human Conflict

Committee Room 3 | Poverty and Prejudice

Committee Room 4 | The Security Council - Poverty and Terrorism
