Event description

Description

Children with disability are more at risk of abuse than other children.

Do you know what you would do in a situation where your child disclosed information about abuse or they told you one of the other children had really rude photos’?

Often parents don’t want to think about dealing with a situation like this because it’s scary and they hope it won’t ever happen to their child.

What would you do? Are you confused about how to teach your child to be wary of potential harm, without overloading them with fear, wrapping them in cotton wool, or giving them so much information that their innocence is damaged? Would you know what tried and true steps to take in the event a situation occurred?
